    Information we collect automatically

    If you visit our website, your web browser automatically sends us information such as the:

    • Type of browser software and operating system you are using;
    • Date and time you access our site; and
    • The internet address of the site from which you linked directly to our site.

    Please note:

    • We do not consider this information to be personally identifiable information, or private.
    • This information is used to operate our site, and may be shared with third parties, including law enforcement / government surveillance agencies.
    • We may keep the information that we collect for an unlimited period of time.
    • We will not obtain personally identifiable information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information.

    Personally identifiable information

    We collect information that can potentially be used to identify you as an individual (“Personally identifiable information”) only when you provide such information to us. We ask for personally identifiable information (your name, e-mail address, user id, etc) when you register for a TutnIQ account, or if you correspond with us.

    We use personally identifiable information to operate, maintain and improve our service, and to fulfill requests you may make to us. This includes personalizing your experience of the website (including advertisements and offers). We may also use personally identifiable information to prevent distribution of spam, malware and other content contravening our terms of service. We comply with reasonable requests of law enforcement and other government surveillance agencies.

    We may retain any information you provide in the content you create on TutnIQ. If you remove any content or other information that you published using the service, copies may remain visible in cached and archived pages of the service, or if other users have copied or saved that information. In addition, given the nature of our service, some of the public activity and / or content on your account prior to deletion may remain stored on our servers and accessible to the public.

    The personally identifiable information we collect:

    • Account information: When you create an account on TutnIQ, we will ask for the following information:
      • User ID: The user ID is used to login to the TutnIQ service and also forms part of the URL of your public profile page on TutnIQ, and is therefore considered to be public information. The user ID you provide on registration cannot be changed.
      • Your name: Upon initial registration the name that you provide will also serve as your screen-name. You are able to change your screen-name from the Personal settings option on the My account menu. We consider the name provided on registration, and your screen-name to be public information. We suggest that you use your real name on registration (see below). The name you provide on registration (your name) cannot be changed, although your screen-name can be changed as often as you want.
      • Password: You must set a password, unique to this site. Failure to comply with this requirement is entirely at your own risk. Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes.
      • Email address: We use your email address to verify your account and to communicate with you. We will not knowingly share your email address with spammers, however in order for us to send you an email message, your email address will be exposed to a number of service providers and third parties (see below). Subsequent to registration you can set the following, all considered to be public information:

    • Screen-name: The name which appears on your public profile page, and which is indicated as the author / creator of any content you created on TutnIQ. You can change the screen-name as often as you want. Impersonation of other people or entities is prohibited.

    Real name policy

    We recommend that you use your real name when you register. Your real name is the name which appears on government issued identity documents. If you use your real name you will be able to:

    -Prove your identity if you are accused of impersonation.
    -Regain access to your TutnIQ account if you forget your password and lose access to your email address (a support fee may be levied).

    We do not currently require you to use your real name on registration, however if you chose not to use your real name, you do so at your own risk.

    Why your email address is not a secret:

    In order to communicate with you via email, we need to include your email address in the message header. This may be shared with or accessible to:

    • Our hosting provider;
    • Our email provider;
    • Our transaction email api provider;
    • Third-party network providers;
    • Mail transfer server agent operators;
    • Malware and spam scanning services;
    • Your ISP / network provider;
    • Your mail service provider;
    • ...and possibly service providers / parties we have not mentioned, or are not aware of (hello NSA! ).

    Although some providers may use TLS , to secure email delivery, this does not protect the email from server operators. Furthermore we are not able to ensure that providers use TLS consistently. Numerous large email providers do not currently support TLS.
